Fundraising ideas for Internet
Projects

If you have an Internet project that you
need some funding for, there are many different options
available to you. Either you are a non profit organisation,
maybe even a charity that requires some fundraising, or you run a profitable
business that requires some fresh capital. You can raise
money in either case, but there will be very different
options open to you depending on your circumstance. If you
are running a business then it is really investment
opportunities that you are after, however this process can
still be referred to as fundraising.
You could go down the traditional fundraising route with tried
and tested fundraising ideas; or if you are
fundraising for an Internet project, why not consider the
possibility of using the Internet to raise your funds as
well. This method can save you a lot of time and frustration
if you can pull it off well. The Internet is an amazing
networking tool because it basically strips away all
geographical distances and cultural boundaries and allows
you to connect with as many people as your networking skills
will allow. If you are beginning or expanding an Internet
project then you are probably already experienced with how
the online world works, and can use your knowledge to help
you with raising money.
If you are in an organisation, whether profitable or not, that
is looking for some investment, then you shouldn't put all of
your eggs in one basket. If your strategy encompasses the
seeking of real world investment along with online investment,
then you are going to have more options available to you. If
you are successful in finding various sources of capital in a
multitude of ways then you will be successful in your
fundraising endeavours. There are however some general
guidelines to follow, depending on how much money you wish to
raise, and these guidelines are applicable to either internet
or non Internet based projects.
In most situations people are wanting to raise less than
$100,000, which makes these following avenues the best to
pursue. Contact friends, family members, relations and members
of your local community who may want to invest, this is a great
way to get started. Your local accountants may also be aware of
someone who wishes to invest in a project like yours; and there
are of course, the banks.
If the amount you are looking for is bigger than this then your
local accountants may also be able to help. You could also look
into the government agencies within your country that may have
a current database of potential private investors. There may
even be a specialised branch of these investment bodies who
work with online business. If you wish to go down the online
investment route, there are also many professional fund raising
companies who are willing to help you and either charge a flat
fee or a percentage of any investment they might find.
If you are a smaller non profit organisation looking for some
money for an Internet project, why not use the Internet to get
started. You could have an online auction to raise money or
simply put a donation button on your homepage. Many traditional
fundraising methods like raffles are also still effective
whether carried out online or not. No matter what the size or
scope of your organisation, if you need money and are dedicated
to your online project there are certainly lots of different
ways to get the funds you need.
